Mark E Smith R.I.P.
Mark E Smith the lead singer with The Fall has passed away at the age of 60.
I photographed him and his band several times in the early 1980's - his music was certainly not for the faint-hearted. Championed by John Peel, The Fall were a mainstay of the burgeoning indie-rock scene. Here are a selection of their tunes picked by the New York Times featuring one of my photos taken at the Electric Ballroom in Camden Town, London, UK on 17 April 1980, followed by their obituary:
