Nadine Gordimer R.I.P.
Nobel prize winner Nadine Gordimer was one of South Africa's greatest authors and one of the literary world's most powerful voices against apartheid fighting for the release of Nelson Mandela. More recently she became a powerful campaigner in the HIV/AIDS movement. I was lucky to get to meet her briefly for a quick photo session in 1987 at her publishers in London. She came over as a modest but very dynamic and intelligent person.
