This is The Polecats lead guitarist Boz Boorer just before they were due onstage at the legendary Marquee Club on Wardour Street. Boz was engrossed with playing his guitar and didn’t pay much attention to me or my camera giving me a nice natural shot.
There had been rockabilly revival developing underground in London with bands like The Polecats, The Meteors and Levi & The Rip-Chords setting the pace in music and style. This was a fairly short-lived movement as the mainstream epitomised by the US band The Stray Cats cottoned on.
Since 1991 Boz has been Morrisey’s musical director.
