St Brigid's Head Stone
County Wicklow
Known as Cloch Na Gceann ('stone of the head'). One story has Cummascach, son of the high king Aed Ainmire, being decapitated here in the Bórama saga.
There's a local practice of putting your head in the hole to cure a headache or ailment. Coins, candle stubs, holy medals, wreaths and pictures are left in the hole and ribbons, rags and relics hang from the nearby branches in thanksgiving for a cure.
