Feaghna Bullaun

County Kerry

Bullaun stones are a common feature in Irish landscapes often situated near to churches although most probably predate the Christian sites. Many consist of one or a few circular hollows but this one has smooth oval pebbles that apparently should be turned if you want to wish harm on another person. Underneath the central stone is a hollow full of coins that have been placed there over the decades from rusty old pennies to shining new euro coins.
